  • MLB and the Yankees

Most people who know me know I am a die hard BASEBALL fan, Cardinals all the way. I don't like the Cubs or the Yankees, but fair is fair. I don't whine and cry when they win as long as all was FAIR!
My dad taught me to be a good sportsman first, and that means that even when the opposing team does well or has a great play or play a better game you give them a cheer. You don't sit there and say they suck, and pout. Do you have to like it that they won and you lost, no, but you have to be a good person and realize they DESERVED it, (unless it was a rare time when the UMPS cheated your team out of a win, then you can get mad and be as big of a baby as you want to be).
Now that the Yankees have won the World Series, I am completely sick of hearing it. They played a great post-season and deserved to win, loved Jonny Damon's double steal on one pitch, it was great! BUT in all fairness, and anyone who is being fair, Yankee fan or not, should be able to admit that mlb (mainly twitter) and most announcers aren't fair. They were clearly going for the Yankees (the announcers) and that while yes the Yankees should get to celebrate, that doesn't mean MLB should be shoving them down the throats of the rest of us. When the Cardinals won in 06 lots of non-sports fans DIDN'T know, wanna know why? NO COVERAGE! This year EVERYONE knows because it's the Yankees! A big deal was made out of them winning the WS in a brand new stadium just like the 23 Yankees, forgeting that 3 other orginazations had ALSO done that, including the Cardinals in 2006. But a HUGE DEAL was made about the Yankees, as if only THE YANKEES had ever done it before or NOW!
Now as much as I don't like the Yankees they are a good team, and they do deserve to Celebrate but now that the Parade is over, MLB needs to stop with the Yankee love affair and be fair to all MLB teams.
Say what you want, and I don't know what kind of NATIONAL coverage and MLB coverage other teams got, but Cardinals got VERY LITTLE, Phillies got a small bit, Red Sox got alot, but that was becasue it was HUGE that they had won.
All I ask is that MLB be FAIR with the coverage of teams and how they support them.

If don't care if you agree with me or not, but if you do, please tell MLB on twitter (@mlb) that they have gone overboard on the Yankee WS coverage and now that the parade is over they need to cool it and be fair to ALL teams.

    I listen to METAL!

On twitter, some moron keeps calling Hollywood Undead Metal! WTF?! How are they metal, when did they get that label? Show me ANYWHERE where that label has been applied to them, other than by morons. Mostly this guy just complains about how much he doesn't like them. Fine everyone is entitled to think whichever bands they want are good/bad and others will disagree. On the blog that he post that went along with the Twitter post somebody made this comment "When I say I listen to Metal, people assume I listen to sh*tty bands like HU!" Then proceeds to trash on Hollywood Undead or HU as they use in abrieated form.
I listen to metal, have pretty much all my life, hasn't always been the main music I listen to but have always listened to it.
My biggest problems with Metal and how people associate it is HOW they label bands, and that SOME people think they are cool or "badass" for listening to it. Okay first off, you aren't cool for listening to METAL or any other kind of music, and in metal while we are MORE open-minded about things, we can also spot the POSER really fast, usually we will leave you aline, but if you annoy us or try to be pushy about it, we will let you know we know you are fake. Wanna know how to spot a metal poser? They don't know which bands are really metal and will call bands that are incorectly labeled metal, metal. They listen to the BIG metal bands, they iconic ones, and the new trendy ones only. NOTHING obscure, those they usually trash on or have never heard of.
As far as labeling goes, 90% of "hair metal" from the 80s and early 90s are not metal, they are barely hard rock, with the vast majority being simply ROCK! They fit an image and were "scary" or different and got that label.
"Classic Metal" lots of that needs a clarification on it that it was HARD FOR IT'S TIME, but is not actual metal, ie Led Zepplin!
When I say I listen to metal I mean I listen to real metal. I don't listen to "British Metal, simply because I just don't like it, I don't listen to "classic metal" because most isn't metal, I don't listen to "Hair metal" because few of those were metal, and bands like Tesla and Black Crowes end up there and they never had the "glam" look, just long hair! Basically if you played any kind of rock/hard rock in the 80s and early 90s you got lumped in as "hair metal" regardless of look or sound.
Being scary doesn't make you metal either! Not all rap/metal hybrids should be called metal, Korn, yes, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, no, those where more rap and ROCK hybrids.
Some of the METAL bands I listen to (and it ranges from alt/prog metal to black/death metal) and even some of these I dont feel SHOULD be labeled as such. Rob Zombie, HURT, The Autumn Offering, Destrophy, Otep, Il Nino, Sister Sin, Testament, In This Moment, the Agonist, In Flames, Lazarus AD, Unearth, Straight Line Stitch, Halestorm, August Burns Red, Mushroomhead, The Black Dahlia Murder

  • Pro-choice and Christianity

While driving today, I was behind an SUV with a bumper sticker that read

    U can't be both Christian and Pro-choice

Why can't you? I am pro-choice, but it depends on the situation. I feel everyone woman has the right to choice to have an abortion if she wants too. That being said, I don't feel that woman who use abortion as birth control should have them. Use REAL birth control first, then if you get pregnant that can become a choice, but if you are so irresponsible that you didn't use anything that I take issue with that. I also believe that rape and molestation victims definitely have the right to an abortion.

Where do I fall on the faith line? That's where it gets fuzzy, I am spiritual but not religious, I believe but don't go to any church. Am I Christian, I guess that depends on how you would define one.

So what about anyone else, can you be both Christian and pro-choice, why or why not?

  • What is with total jackasses online this week?

I write for no one but myself, have several blogs on different sites to help get out my feelings and frustrations, the things you need to vent about, get out of your head but don't always need to say it someone, somethings that are better left UNSAID, but you still need to get it off your chest. That's why I blog, and on multiple sites, some I reveal more about me and others I am anonymous. This one is me, open, honest and straight forward.
Awhile back friends and I were talking about a topic and then I lately saw it online, but to me the info was off, not wrong, just not 100% correct, so I wrote a blog about it, and thought it would be fun to see if it could be featured on an ish site, so I submitted it, and it was chosen.
When I got home last night and saw it was up and people had started answering it, I started responding to the few I wanted to respond to, and made a few random comments based on what was being said.
Then suddenly some guy takes offense to the content of my question/blog and says that it has been featured a bunch of times before and he is disappointed with the content of said ish site, well don't post all your issue with that ish site on my blog because you think it's been overdone, that isn't my fault. Take that up with the editors. Now I can see if it was off topic or inappropriate in general, but it wasn't.
He went so far as to tell me I had no right to complain about the content of comments being posted on a question on an ish site, lol, yes I do as it was my question, I submitted it to them, even got a message thanking me for allowing them to publish it on their ish site. So how do I not have the right to complain about his bitching and moaning.
I have been bitched out by the OP many times because they don't like what I said in comment, I have even had a few fellow bloggers respond to what I say, and I to them.

And the title, he is just the one I choice to bitch about on here, like I said I use several blogs, and other forums and networking sites, is it a full moon and putting people in a pissy mood or something?

  • Big Talkers

I'm pretty laid back until I get annoyed or pissed off. If you disagree with me, that's fine as long as you can defend your point of view intelligently, you can't stoop to name calling or immature answers like "grow up". Actually defend it, that's all I ask, I don't have to agree with your point of view, nor you with mine, and as long as you handle it maturely I will give your opinion a fair chance, but you have to show me the same respect, just know we probably will just end up agreeing to disagree.
I use an online forum with about music, and on lots of post one guy always said such and such band is awful/sucks whichever insult he has for them, so I finally got tired of it, so I challenged him with it, since he doesn't seem to like anyone that had been mentioned, I asked who did he like, he answered and was mature, not a jackass about it all.
Then you have those that talk big because of being online and therefore anonymous or relatively so, so they are bigger jerks online and take aggressions out on people in forums and chat rooms, on blogs, because they can hide behind that computer screen.
With me, I won't say anything online to you that I wouldn't say to your face. I am sometime a bit more reserved online because once it's online and in print you can't talk it back.
In life I am kind of quiet until you get to know me, then forget it, you will see me say and do the weirdest, wackiest, most bizarre things, but only if I like you and trust you. I will talk more, reveal more, to you as I get to know you. Some it happens right away, others it takes a lot longer, if ever to fully open up.
The first time I ever met the singer of my favorite band I was so scared, he seemed like such a jerk walking through the club, but I was finally talked into meeting him. I was getting my picture taken with him, he stuck his hand in my face and I slapped his hand down and called him a fucker, he laughed and took several pictures. Hung out for hours, I had briefly talked to him online about a month before meeting him, and due to what I had asked him about he actually remembered me. I have no idea what made me slap a man's hand that I had been afraid to meet 10 minutes before, but I did. When I did that, and he laughed it changed everything between us. We instantly became relaxed with each other. That was one of the greatest nights of my life. He told me that I was the only person to ever respond to him that way, and he loved it. He was scary as an image and having a bad day or rather couple of days and that wasn't helping his mood.
